London pioneers who left an indelible mark on British dance music, breaking down the boundaries between hip-hop and electronic music long before anyone else.

Their story began in the late 1980s, in a South London apartment with a four-track tape recorder. Blending the rhythmic world of hip-hop with dub, house, funk and electronic music, Stereo MC’s became one of the driving forces behind the transformation of British club culture. Their defining breakthrough came in 1992 with the release of Connected on Island Records. Peaking at number two on the UK Albums Chart and selling millions of copies worldwide, the album earned Stereo MC’s two Brit Awards and gave dancefloors enduring anthems like “Connected,” “Step It Up,” “Ground Level” and “Creation.” Bringing together hip-hop’s underground lyricism, the hypnotic loops of electronic music, the infectious grooves of funk and the depth of dub, the album remains instantly recognisable from its very first seconds, more than three decades after its release. In 2027, Stereo MC’s will turn venues across Europe into dancefloors as they celebrate the album’s 35th anniversary, proving once again that Connected is a rhythm that transcends generations. Be there when the tour lands in Istanbul, at Salon.

A bass-driven journey from hip-hop to house, dub to funk, bringing ’90s club culture into the present without getting lost in nostalgia. Connected still hits just as hard as it did on day one, moving bodies and minds alike.
