Fiba Salon İKSV continues its Literature at Salon series this season, with the aim of creating a community of readers who read, think, discuss and feel, and ultimately form a shared intellectual bond. Where can a novel go when it moves beyond the boundaries of literature? What form, for instance, might a narrative of a city take through the eyes of a writer and an architect? Or how might a tragedy resonate in the minds of a writer and a psychiatrist? Curated by Didem Bayındır, Literature at Salon brings together leading literary voices from Türkiye with prominent figures from other fields.
Murathan Mungan’s literary world, built around cities, memory and time, meets architect Cem Sorguç’s thinking on the city. Taking Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities as their starting point, they explore the question of what makes a city a city: the structures that rise within it, or the stories we tell about it?
