Ukrainian world music quartet DakhaBrakha was born at Kyiv's experimental Dakh Theatre. Blending traditional Ukrainian folk songs with sounds and instruments from across the globe, the group coined the term ‘ethno-chaos’ to describe its distinctive musical language; it has since become inseparable from the band’s identity. Bringing together music, theatre, ritual and contemporary performance, DakhaBrakha transforms every concert into an immersive experience. Introduced to many listeners through Baby, the quartet has taken its music to major festivals including Glastonbury, Roskilde, Sziget and GlobalFEST. Inspired by the Ukrainian resistance and the solidarity shown around the world, DakhaBrakha's latest album Ptakh (Bird) traces themes of freedom and hope.
