The drum ensemble of one of the most distinctive voices on the UK jazz scene – drummer, composer, and producer Sarathy Korwar – featuring Magnus Mehta on balafon and marimba, Donna Thomson on drums and electronics, and Prathap Ramchandran on mridangam, ghatam and kanjira.

Blending Indian classical and folk traditions with jazz and electronics, Sarathy Korwar uses percussion as a form of storytelling. His music explores the legacies of colonialism, ideas of community and the realities of racism, earning praise from The Guardian for the powerful narratives of More Arriving and the meditative approach of KALAK. With his 2025 album There Is Beauty, There Already, Korwar continues to garner acclaim from the international music press. As part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival, and with the support of the Consulate General of India, Korwar performs for audiences in Istanbul on 29 September.
